Man of War III hits the  Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire this Saturday (28th Jan)!

We’ve the eagerly awaited return to the cage of the always dangerous (especially to himself) Johnny Bowden, who fights a strong  Konrad Iwanowski of Team Ryano, and the long anticipated debut of Dylan Tuke, who faces  Denis Krasnoruskus of Rush fight acadamy, in a teen bout.

Also on the card is Dean Knight and Alex Vieru of Legends MMA, so it’ll be an exciting night offights for the clubs.

Weigh ins are taking place at the venue, at 1.30 on Friday, and are public, so if anyone is free to cheer on their clubmates, or even just to laugh at them looking so hungry, it would be appreciated!!

Last few tickets are available in the gym or as below, so lets get down to support clubmates.

Tickets can be purchased @ tickets.ie or from either the Kokoro gym in Gaelic street or Legends gym Bray. Further information can be found @ Manofwar.ie

Christmas at Kokoro

Clan Wars 9

First of all I want to say congrats to the two lads who fought at Clan wars. Keith won his bout by sinking in a deep triangle while Vic secured his victory by connecting with a beautiful right which KO’d his opponent. Both lads worked hard and their effort paid off in the end with the two of them having their hand raised as winners.

The Fight Before Christmas

Sean “of the Dead” Keoghan (the lads barely alive!) and two of the legends boys, Oisin Coburn and Dean knight, will be taking part in The Fight before Christmas which will take place in Rush, December 2nd. All three lads have showed great prowess in the ring so far and will play a major part in the future of Irish MMA.

Those of you that were at Man of War 2 should remember the excellent fight between Dean and his opponent from Rush Dermot Byrne. Both lads displayed some excellent skills in their last encounter and the judges score cards reflected how close it was by calling it a draw. The rematch is bound to provide us with an entertaining fight.

Tickets for this event can be purchased in the gym or direct from promoter baz.oglesby@gmail.com

Christmas Party Anyone?

Also please keep the 17th of December clear in your calender for this years Christmas tournament and Party. If the last few years of Kokoros partys are anything to go by then this should be a Romper Stomper!

Alan Corcoran and Steven Heather put their hard work to the test on the night and showed why Kokoro fighters are in demand by Ireland’s top shows. Read more…

The Kokoro Sandstorm

Expect an awesome few months of MMA from Kokoro as we storm around the country doing what we love. We’ve booked ourselves onto FIVE shows in the coming months. Chaos FC (Derry, Oct 9). Clan Wars (Armagh, Oct 31). Cage Contenders (Belfast, Nov 13). TuffNut (Waterford, Nov 27). BattleZone (Dublin, Nov 28). We’ve TEN fighters on the TuffNut show and titles will be on the line at both Chaos and Cage Contenders. Awesome!

Ultimate Conflict VII – The Result

Awesome performances from Damo and Josh last night at Ultimate Conflict VII! Damo taking a highly experienced opponent to a controversial decision in what was, in my opinion, the best debut performance I’ve seen in national MMA – period. Truly outstanding. I’m looking forward to working with him and watching him progress.

Josh breezed in with another ICE COLD, calm, collected performance. He followed his game plan to the letter and tapped out his opponent 1:30seconds into the first round. That’s Josh’s strength really – he follows the plan and works with corner instruction like a pro. Gentlemen – we salute you! Read more…

The Return of Braulio Estima

We can’t wait for our workshop with Braulio Estima tomorrow (August 29th, 2010). He’s an extraordinary athlete and a talented teacher so there’s no place we’d rather be! Session time confirmed for 13:00. See you there..!

Ultimate Conflict VII: Road Trip

Thanks to all that are supporting Damien and Josh this evening. Sadly, several opponents have pulled out on Alan and he won’t get to enjoy the fruits of his hard work tonight. He will however be in a ring or cage very, very soon. Josh and Damien have put in the time and effort – so they’re very much looking forward to testing themselves tonight. As always, the support of the KOKORO ARMY is appreciated! Doors Open 7pm, First Fight 8pm. See you there!

BJJ Short Break

Tony is all but prepared to head off to Russia for a couple of weeks. So, there’ll be a short BJJ Holiday at Kokoro! Tony will be gone 26th July – 6th August inclusive. No BJJ between those dates. Don’t worry – Tony will be back on the mats doing his thing funkier than ever on August 10th!
