What a great day was had by all! The purpose of our in-house tournaments is to give beginners (those with 0-24 months experience) an opportunity to compete in a friendly and safe environment. This weekend was awesome and we made some great new friends.

Two counts of bad news for all that were looking forward to seeing Shane Thomas and Kevin Carney square off at Spartan 5. Shane received a call today from Marty Walker (Spartan Promoter) to inform him that, due to urgent medical concerns, Kevin is unable to defend his Title at Spartan 5 on Saturday. [...]
A limited number of tickets for the Spartan 5 show are now available at Kokoro MMA Gym, Dublin 3 (location). They’re priced at 25€ each or £20 sterling.
Shane Thomas was interviewed this week (18th May, 2010) by Ireland’s only MMA Radio Show. Punchin’ and Crunchin’ have been kind enough to give us the uncut copy of the interview.
We’re constantly striving to improve the training options available at Kokoro. We’ve recently updated the schedule and there is now an opportunity to practise (sparring) five days per week. Schedule here (click).
Spartan 5 was scheduled to be held in Belfast on June 27th, 2010. Unfortunately, problems with the venue means a change in location.
Take 30 guys, tell them they’ll need to spend the next three hours sparring, then sit back and watch the magic unfold. That’s how it was at today’s level assessment.

The Clan Wars promotion is sanctioned by the ISKA and their next show is now scheduled for 8th August, 2010 in Armagh. We’ll keep you posted with card information and updates as and when their received.
