Throughout the week our beginners programme has been focusing on submission wrestling basics. In the early days of submission wrestling, we find that we spend a lot of time on our back. “Pulling guard” is one way to open up a number of submission opportunities.
“The Fight Before Christmas” will take place in Whitehall Colmcille GAA club on Friday, 12th December. It’s a great opportunity to support Kokoro fighters on home turf! Both Cathal Pendred and Cian Ruane will appear on the card. Tickets can be collected from Kokoro at just €30!
By now you’ll have come to know the fighters in the gym. But, now you get to name them too! We’re looking for nicknames for some of the current and upcoming fighters.

Just wanted to thank Andrea for taking the time to give us lot an introduction to Capoeira this evening. His strength, flexibility, agility and skill is SICKENING. So, much as I would hope to have him shot (for fear of looking fiercely unskilled by comparison)… …instead we’ve gone and made a deal!
