OPTIONS – A TRAINING SCHEDULE TO SUIT EVERYONE
Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts offer an extensive and varied schedule of training to suit everyone – regardless of age, fitness or experience level. If you’d like to put yourself to the test, then please contact us and we’ll arrange try out sessions (free of charge).
NEW STARTERS AND THOSE WITH LITTLE OR NO EXPERIENCE
We love introducing people to this fantastic sport!
We are particularly focused on working with beginners and introducing people to the fundamentals of this great sport. Our Beginner and Core Training programmes have been specifically developed those that are new to Kokoro and/or Mixed Martial Arts.
MMA Beginners Instruction
Our tailored “Starter Concepts” course suited to absolute beginners and/or new starters at Kokoro.MMA Core Instruction
A structured quarterly training plan consistently addressing the “Core Concepts” and training methods required for progression and success in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. It’s suited to graduates of our beginners course and/or those with contact sports experience.Spaces are limited and we frequently operate a waiting list. Contact us to find out what’s available.
EXPERIENCED FIGHTERS OR ATHLETES
Our experienced coaching team and varied schedule allows us to cater for the more experienced athlete.
Those who already have a background in MMA, full contact striking or submission grappling will find themselves at home with Kokoro! We’ll quickly assess your level and determine whether you’ll benefit from training directly in a more advanced group and/or tailor a schedule specifically to suit your needs.
A personal programme can be arranged to suit those that have previous experience in a single element of MMA (eg. grappling or striking).
PRACTISE SESSIONS
Our practise (sparring) sessions are open to all members subject to coaches approval. As a saftey mechanism, those with no previous experience of combat sports and new starters, are expected to complete a 12 week cycle of concepts training before attending practise sessions.
To truly progress in the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, we need to put ourselves to the test in the gym and get some experience of working with solid levels of contact and resistance. These practise sessions serve as “step two” toward progressing into the ring or cage. We ensure that everyone gets the most out of sparring (i.e. that the participants functional ability consistently improves) by means of our “Tag and Tap: Progressive Sparring Approach”. Sparring progresses up to 100% full contact for those that are skilled enough to handle it.
PRIVATE TRAINING
Private instruction is available by arrangement. This can serve as a great supplement to group training or as an option for those that would prefer to get started on a one-2-one basis.
Personal Training Sessions focus on the athletic, technical and academic aspects of Mixed Martial Arts. These sessions are 100% tailored to the needs of the participant.
COMPETITION READINESS PROGRAMME
Kokoro’s Competition Readiness Programme is by invitation only and is our “trade secret”. Fighters, title holders and contenders from Kokoro and gyms throughout Ireland and Europe regularly participate in our Competition Readiness Programme when preparing for the cage.
If you’re looking to compete – this is the programme that will put you to the test.
There’s no better way to find out if you’re ready to step into the cage.
