Kokoro MMA All Day Training a Success

Kokoro Mixed Martial Arts in Dublin held a full day of training yesterday (10th November, 2007). Andy flew in from Germany to help with the coaching and we’re now well and truly knackered! The focus and dedication of Kokoro Martial Artists is second to none.

We’ll get some photos up later in the day but I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to the 20 people that showed for the day. We got started at 9:00am, trained in all ranges up until 17:30 and then got cracking with fights in Boxing, Kickboxing, Full Contact Karate (Kyokushin), Judo, Submission Wrestling and MMA. The promotions handed out at the end of these fights were WELL DESERVED.

Kokoro = Heart, Mind & Spirit

Yesterday, you ALL lived up to that name and I thank you for making me a very proud man. I hope you enjoyed the day as much as I did.

Photos soon…

OSU.

As some of you know I have been training in the Martial Arts for the better part of 10 years. In the past half year i have had the two greatest honours of my Budo life. The first being given the chance to attend the 2007 IBK summer camp and to experience Kaicho Bluming in action, and the second to be named an official founding member of Kokoro. It is my dream to have a dojo where what I believe is the true nature of Budo can be passed on to others, and seeing the dedication and commitment that Kokoro members displayed last Saturday, along with the new Dojo itself, is a realization of that dream. I am very proud of where the Dojo has come to in the past 2 years. I would particularly like to comment on the words that Shane mentioned during the promotion of my good friend Neno. Nenos dedication to training is the very essence of Karate-Do – excellence through the pursuit of perfection – and I look forward to a long life of training with you and all the others at Kokoro. As for Shane himself. Shane mentioned a guy that just kept turning up for training, even when there was no one else there. From the first training session I had with Shane I realized that he could lead me to the level of Martial Arts that I had only previously dreamed of, and although I have been absent of late I shall make a return to full time training.

I shall see you all soon,

    OSU!

    Dave.

Was a great day folks and ate up every minute of it. Was a pity I had to miss the sparring, but enjoyed none the less. Thanks again Shane

That was a great day of training, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Usually at a day long session like that, because of trying to retain so much information, I am happy to come away with even one
thing that will stay with me whether it be a concept, a better understanding of a specific technique or something completely new.

Well, at least 3 or 4 counts for me on Saturday then, a bloody good day! Cheers Shane, Andy and the rest of you guys, looking forward to when we do it again :)

Great day of training on Saturday – really helped to be able to put together a good range of techniques in one day. Thanks again Shane, and to Andy and Dave and everyone for making it a great session – can’t wait to do another day like it.
