Despite being told the outcome in advance by Derek (never forgive you mate… …never!) I enjoyed this. I played a Jedi mind trick on myself and convinced myself that Derek was winding me up and that I still didn’t know the result. Landspeeders are cool… would love a landspeeder of my very own…

    Superb show.

In the end; it must have been the low kicks and “effort to finish” that gave it to Forrest.

Rampage was the more “effective” striker though and he nullified Forrest’s efforts 99% of the time (with the exception of those low kicks). So, I guess that “effort” and “the show” counts for more.

The old adage is true though: “The only way to guarantee an MMA win is by Knock Out or Submission. If you leave it to the judges then you’re flipping a coin.”

Got to be honest though; I’m glad it went to Griffin. He puts in the effort. Jackson went in slow, poorly prepared and arrogant (not his usual hype, but actual belief that he was superior to Griffin and that Griffin “couldn’t handle” him). So, it was good to see a win to to the man that put in the most effort.

Definitely a rematch coming there though…

I apologise whole heartedly that I spoiled it for you….. un-intentionally. I’ve got a no internet policy when I’m avoiding the result of something. I just never even thought about those emails!!
And just for the record, my next of kin has been instructed (in the event of any serious injuries or Death! on Tuesday) to inform the police of this situation.

P.S. Do you believe in Kharma? I guess that dead leg you gave me half an hour AFTER training on Thursday came back on you.

    again….. un-intentionally.

Yeah good event all around, I nearly had a stroke watching the Griffin V Jackson fight, just seemed that at any moment Jackson could have caught him off guard, happy Griffin won though, although I am a big fan of Jackson too.

God by the end of that koscheck fight the octagon resembled a Pollock painting! Haven’t seen that much blood in the octagon in a while!
    Splendid!

You know what, the weather was so bad outside during that Koscheck fight that my Setanta kept losing the signal (satelite) so when it came back and I seen the 6 inch wide trail of blood I couldn’t believe it.

Just watching the 1st Griffin v Bonnar fight on the Ultimate fighter finale and I have to wonder what would of happened if that decision had of gone to Stephen Bonnar. Would Dana have given two contracts? Would Forrest have got as big a push? Fine line.

Was a crazy fight alright. And, again - leading us to wonder whether tossing a coin is the way to go on judges decisions.

The fight should have been stopped and many other refs would have stopped it. I mean, “intelligent defence”? He was defending alright; but not so that damage was being minimised in any way. Should have been stopped.

Then, the crazy variance in the score cards when, let’s face it, Koscheck roared away with it.

Very odd night of judging at the UFC. Very, very odd.

All we’ve to wait for now is the Griffin vs Lidell match up! Surely it has to be on the cards with Griffin holding the belt!!

I’m not really a fan of Liddell; but for entertainment value Liddell v. Griffin is a fight I’d pay to see…

Personally I’d hate to see that fight cause I don’t want to see either of them lose.
I’d be more interested in Wanderlei v Rampage. Actually I really want to see Rampage v Liddell again. I still think Chuck could beat him.

They should have a 4 way match. Just stick the 4 of them in the cage and who ever comes out alive is the winner!

Why do I get the feeling that, in your head, it looks a lot like UFC meets Celebrity Death Match?

Actually, I’ve a feeling that… …in your head… …we’d need to throw in the ring girls and a very, very large bowl of jelly to keep you happy!

I’ve got issues all right. Look I was brought up on WWF/WWE. I only copped on to MMA about 4 years ago. Sometimes I get confused.

So for your next fight I want your entrance music to be “I am a real american” and you’ve to rip off your shirt and tell all your Kokoro-maniacs to say their prayers, and take their vitamins.

Well finally got around to watching this last night after “borrowing” it off the internet. What can I say what a match, seriously the shots they took would have crippled a normal person. Have to admire Rampages moxy going in with the hurt leg as a lead. Almost as if to say “fuck yeah you have hurt me but I’m gonna keep you guessing”.

Am a Rampage fan through and through but I can’t begrudge Griffin that performance. Apart from the Iceman and Wanderlei, that was match of the year for me so far.
