I'm still, just about, going to back Mir to take this by submission. I watched that Rachael Leah show with Brock and he seems genuine and hard working. He definitely could win it! Nog versus Sylvia is also an interesting match up, going to back Nog again for the same reasons (better jiujitsu). Wouldn't mind seeing Sylvia and Lesnar and Mir and Nog going at it too.

On one side you have Brock Lesnar, larger than life personality who needs to cut to 260lbs but is a rookie. Despite this, he's hugely athletic and was a very good college wrestler in his day. On the other side you have a veteran of MMA with a decent record (except he's been on a downward spiral for some time) who's significantly smaller but has great submissions. I don't like this fight because it's not an even match up of skill, size or experience. If Mir can avoid getting battered through his (half) guard, presuming Brock can't pass then he has a chance of submitting the bigger man, possibly through heel or ankle lock.

I have to be honest. I'm really looking forward to having him in the UFC. I've a feeling we're going to see BIG things from Lesnar.

I don't think what's best for the sport is an issue here. I think the sport has a foothold (no pun intended) already and I don't think anything can really dislodge it from the mainstream periphery. Brock Lesnar has a lot of charisma and a lot of fan following from WWE but this is MMA. All that matters is his performances in the ring/cage, I'll judge him on his fighting not his talking. Having said that, DW/UFC need to have more than a quiet word in his ear because more steroid use scandals are not helpful. I'm happy to have Brock in the UFC, but I need to see him scrap.

It'll be interesting to see how his physique, changes now that he'll be tested regularly for performance enhancers.
