We’ll be holding a 5 hour fundamental workshop on Submission Wrestling for MMA at the gym on Saturday 18th April, 2008. We’re going to cover the “big picture” on the mat to ensure that we’ve a fundamental understanding of our options from each position on the ground.
Despite our finely tuned 12 week rolling programme; beginners struggle with what can sometimes feel like the “jigsaw” nature of mixed martial arts. We’re looking to simultaneously develop our skills as strikers and submission wrestlers. Each week, we add more pieces of “the puzzle” to our armoury and through sparring sessions we aim to “put the pieces together”. In the early days, it’s not always easy to see the bigger picture.
The upcoming workshop will help develop a view of the bigger picture and set us up for considerable gains during training.
WORKSHOP: Submission Wrestling for MMA – Level 1a (Side & Mount)
DATE: Saturday, 18th April, 2009
TIME: 13:00
COST: 50 Euro (in advance)
DURATION: 5 hrs approx.
INSTRUCTOR: A shiny headed welshman
CLOTHING: MMA Gear (you may want a change of training clothing and a towel).
First 14 people to sign up with a payment of 50€ are assured a place in the workshop. Six places already booked and paid for before putting up this notice.
Next submissions workshop will be in approx. 6 months time.
